Four years ago, Meyer & Wallis laid off more than a third of its staff and moved its offices in search of cheaper rent after it failed to bounce back from the 1994 loss of its cornerstone Dominick’s Finer Foods account.
Last week, the Milwaukee agency moved into a new space filled with all the industry’s interior design bells and whistles–concrete block and angled walls, frosted glass and galvanized metal columns.
A steady rebuilding process has put the shop back on its feet, and a succession plan has agency founder Bob Meyer turning over his president’s title to Scott Rackham, previously vice president and chief operating officer.
Meyer remains chief executive officer of the agency, which claims billings of $30 million.
“We’ve got a lot of good things going in the last three years,” said Rackham, who was recruited by Meyer four years ago from a Denver brand development firm.
