New President at JWT in Chicago

NEW YORK Ros King, the New York-based global business director on JWT’s global Kraft account, is moving to Chicago to become president of the network’s third largest office, the agency said.

King, who will retain her Kraft duties, succeeds Barry Krause, who was president since February 2003.

Krause, 51, is leaving to deal with family health issues, according to the WPP Group agency. He is expected to remain at JWT for another month to help King get acclimated.

Kraft is a key client in Chicago, along with Stouffer’s, Nabisco, Illinois Tourism and Nestle. The office has a staff of roughly 170 and billings of about $250 million.

In her new role, King, 45, will partner with Chicago executive creative director Graham Woodall and report to North American region president Rob Quish. As a global business director, she will continue to report to worldwide CEO Bob Jeffrey.

“Ros is an enthusiastic and intelligent leader who has keen ability to deliver growth for us and our clients,” said Quish, who became region president last week.

King has been based at JWT’s New York office since June 2004. Before that, she was managing director of the agency’s London office, working with clients such as Kraft, Nestle and Unilever. She joined JWT in 1997.

On Krause’s watch, the Chicago office won the $20 million Stouffer’s Red Box account and $12 million Illinois Tourism business. In June 2004, it also hired Woodall, a former executive creative director at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in New York, to fill the vacancy left by the exit of Rick Kemp three months earlier.
