New Owners at Duffey Communications

ATLANTA The three-member management team of Duffey Communications said it has purchased the shop from its founders, Lee Duffey and his wife, Jenny.

The couple does not retain any ownership in the independent Atlanta-based public relations shop, but they will remain affiliated with the agency as consultants.

The new owners are Sherri Fallin, Nichole D. Taylor and Arlene Large. Fallin, now CEO, has been with the agency for more than five years and was director of client services. Taylor, the new president, has been the director of account services for 18 months. Large, now COO, has been the shop’s controller for the past three years. Each owns an equal share of the agency.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The new ownership will keep the Duffey name and the agency’s office space in the city’s Buckhead district. They have no immediate plans to make significant changes, they said.

Lee Duffey, 45, said he and his wife had been planning an “exit strategy” from the shop for the past several years. They plan to spend more time together at their homes in Atlanta, Florida and Colorado. They also are planning a trip to the Republic of Georgia in the former Soviet Union this May to help build orphanages.

“I have worked since I was 13,” Duffey said. “I haven’t had time until now to pursue other interests.”
