New Name, COO, PR Unit at Fricks/Firestone

ATLANTA Fricks/Firestone Advertising has changed its name, added two senior executives and launched a public relations subsidiary, according to the shop.

The Atlanta advertising agency will now operate under the name FR!X. John Fricks, chief executive officer at FR!X, said that the new look and sound of the name captures the shop’s approach of developing creative solutions for its clients.

William Glass has been named chief operating officer and will be responsible for overseeing daily operations.

FR!X also has established a subsidiary, FR!Xation, and appointed Ellen Adair Wyche president of the public relations practice.

Both Glass and Wyche have several years of experience in advertising and public relations, respectively. Prior to joining the shop, Glass was senior vice president at Allen & Gerritsen in Boston, where he worked on accounts such as Spalding, Ikon, Strata and Ben Hogan.

Wyche’s resume lists tenures at Atlanta companies such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Philip Morris, Bank of Georgia and Associated Builders & Contractors of Georgia. As president of FR!Xation, Wyche said she would develop market loyalty and brand awareness for clients through media relations, product promotion and external communications.

Fricks founded F/FA in 1987. The agency’s client roster includes Papa John’s Pizza, The Disney Channel, Snapper and Suburban Extended Stay Hotels.
