Reactrix, a five-year-old California technology firm, is looking to take the location-based media space by storm with a new technique it has developed to create interactive advertising.

The Redwood City-based company is aided in its mission by soon-to-be-released Arbitron research that reports high levels of brand recall by consumers exposed to the ads. The research also indicates that consumer awareness of the Reactrix displays is significantly higher than for other place-based media in the same locations.

The technology allows Reactrix to project 6-by-8-foot advertising images onto the floors of public spaces in 30-second increments.
