New Accounts Lead to New Hires at Strategem

SAN FRANCISCO Marketing agency Strategem Healthcare Communications here has hired three employees to serve the accounts of several new clients, a shop representative said.

The agency recently added clients including Oncology Therapeutics Network, Free & Clear, Tensys Medical and Pacific Bioscience Laboratories, according to the rep.

The new staff members are account executive Sima Shah, senior traffic manager Ellyn Kutch and copy editor Stephen Gershon.

Shah, 27, began her newly created position in June and reports to Susan Hempstead, agency principal. Shah has experience developing promotional and programming strategies for C-SPAN and Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta. Previously, she produced promotional videos for Indicorps, a nonprofit organization working on behalf of India’s progress.

Prior to joining Strategem, Kutch worked as a studio manager at Gap, and traffic and production manager at Seismicom, MRM Partners, Frankle Company, Providian Financial and Chartmasters, all in San Francisco. Kutch, 51, started her job in June; her supervisor is Patricia Malone, principal.

Strategem hired Gershon, 34, in April based on his work as a freelance copywriter, proofreader and senior editor. He contributed to Microsoft projects for MRM Gould; Charles Schwab projects for CRS Advertising; and the launch of pharmaceutical product lines at San Francisco’s Giant Creative Strategy. He has also worked for Abelson-Taylor and the American Medical Association in Chicago.

Stratagem is an independent, San Francisco-based marketing communications agency with affiliate partners in Europe and Asia. It opened in 1997.
