NEW YORK NBC’s Web site traffic rose significantly last week as people fed their appetite for The Apprentice.

About 868,000 unique visitors logged on to NBC.com from home, up 53 percent over the week before, while 863,000 did so from work, a 44 percent week-over-week growth, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. Findings revealed that fans were accessing episode recaps and a sweepstakes related to the reality TV series that made famous the line, “You’re fired.”

On last night’s finale of the NBC hit, Internet entrepreneur Bill Rancic was chosen to run one of Donald Trump’s businesses over Harvard MBA Kwame Jackson.
