A tree, a rock, a cloud. They’re all connected, so how can you choose which to protect and conserve?

As a new Advertising Council PSA for the nonprofit alliance Earth Share elegantly demonstrates, you don’t have to.

Released just in time for Earth Day, the spot features animation by artist Allen Brewer and a voice over by actor Harrison Ford. It follows a path of seeds that are sowed to grow a forest, which feeds from a stream, which runs through mountains … eventually linking to a child whose mother donates to Earth Share.

“The whole premise behind Earth Share is that if you’re concerned about the environment and don’t want to have to pick [which cause to support], give to Earth Share and you support [many environmental organizations],” said Peggy Conlon, president and CEO of the Ad Council. To convey this, the ad “focuses on how all elements of nature are linked together.”

The PSA was created by FCB in Chicago, Earth Share’s volunteer agency since 1994. It is being distributed to 28,000 television stations nationwide and should start airing within the next two weeks.
