NATPE Plans Major Global Ad Community Outreach

NEW YORK– The National Association of Television Program Executives will offer greater access and interaction with advertising professionals at its 2002 conference in Las Vegas next January, according to the chairman of next year’s events, Jon Mandel. Mandel is co-managing director/chief negotiating officer of Grey Global Group’s MediaCom.

“Last year, we had a few panels that involved advertising, but this year, I wanted to create a more intensive and practical venue to get advertisers together with television executives,” Mandel said.

The conference, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 21-24 2002, will feature a special showcase of major advertising agencies and an invitation-only reception for industry professionals and organizations. At the reception will be key advertisers and agencies, heads of sales for major media organizations, station groups, broadcast and cable networks, cable MSOs, barter sales, and station rep firms from both domestic and international companies.

Mandel will also host the “Chairman’s Roundtable,” an invitation-only discussion that aims to bring together a “blue ribbon” group of advertisers and agencies focusing on opportunities for sales executives and media buyers to work more efficiently to identify avenues for securing more ad dollars.
