MVBMS Defends Liquor Account vs. Domecq Roster Shops

Allied Domecq’s Domecq Importers unit is conducting a review for Courvoisier cognac, a brand that has had little ad support recently.

Kevin McCarthy, brand manager for Courvoisier, confirmed that incumbent Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG here was invited to pitch the creative and media planning and buying account along with Domecq roster shops Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano; Cliff Freeman and Partners; and Mezzina/Brown, all in New York.

‘We’re looking for a little agency direction,’ said McCarthy, adding that contenders have been asked to propose media budgets and plans when they make presentations during the first week of July. ‘We want to reposition the brand to give it a voice,’ he added.
