Mullen, M/W Reach Bahamas Finals

BOSTON — Mullen and Martin/Williams will face off in the final round of the review for the $10-15 million Bahamas Ministry of Tourism account, sources said.

Mullen, an Interpublic Group shop in Wenham, Mass., and M/W, an Omnicom agency in Minneapolis, were selected from a group of four semifinalists that had included Publicis Groupe’s Fallon, Minneapolis, and independent HDC, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., sources said.

Agency executives either declined comment or could not be reached; client officials did not return immediately respond to queries.

Consumer ad incumbent Bozell, New York — believing it was unlikely to prevail — recruited Mullen to pitch, hoping to keep the account in the IPG stable, sources said. Trade ad incumbent Irma S. Mann, Strategic Marketing, Boston, an independent, chose not to participate so it could pursue Barbados Tourism, which is also in play.

Mullen and M/W will likely make additional presentations to Bahamas tourism officials this month before the account is awarded by year’s end.
