Michael Mclaren has proven he can handle MRM//McCann’s top job: A year after he was named president of the global digital marketing and relationship management agency, he’s been promoted to chief executive.

He replaces Bill Kolb, who was given the job of global chairman, CEO of a new McCann Worldgroup General Motors account group last May.

Mclaren joined MRM//McCann in 2012 as president of its U.S. operations. He was appointed worldwide president last May at the same time former McCann Erickson North American president Hank Summy joined MRM//McCann.
