Mr. Youth Handling Norton Social Media

Agency snagged business from Edelman

Word-of-mouth marketing shop Mr. Youth earlier this year snagged a piece of Symantec business from public relations giant Edelman, Adweek has learned.

In May, Symantec awarded social media responsibilities for its Norton products to Mr. Youth, which specializes in reaching millennials, after a competitive pitch. Edelman, the incumbent during the review, retains work on Norton's consumer PR. The third finalist in the pitch was New Media Strategies.

A source with knowledge of the deal estimated the business at seven figures. Last year, Crain's reported that Mr. Youth projected its revenue for 2010 at about $25 million.
