TEXAS
Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, San Antonio, recently made additions to its media department. Virginia Corbett, formerly broadcast product manager at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in St. Louis, was named media buying director and Robert Spallone was hired as senior media planner. Spallone has worked for Taylor Speier Group and Sachnowitz & Co., both Houston.
Savitz Research Centers Worldwide, Dallas, appointed John Avi„a Hispanic research director.
Aimee Chen joined The Taylor Speier Group, Houston, as media planner on the Conoco and Houston Industries accounts. Previously, Chen was with McCann-Erickson Southwest, Houston.
Texas Video & Post, Houston, hired producer and director Michael Gilg and art director Jennifer Paniagua. Gilg was previously an executive producer at Houston Industries and HL&P, Houston, while Paniagua was employed as an art director and production manager at Hart Publications, also located in Houston.
DDB Interactive in Dallas hired producer Alvin Pollard and public relations account executive Allison Tatum. Pollard was previously account supervisor at Wunderman Cato Johnson, New York. Tatum moved over from Bustin and Co., Dallas, where she was account manager.
Anamaria Suescun progressed from account executive to account manager in the public relations department of The Atkins Agency, San Antonio.
JWT Specialized Communications, Dallas, added associate creative director Steve Hanthorn from Regian & Wilson Advertising and Public Relations of Fort Worth, along with account supervisor Terri Edson from TateAustin in Austin.
The Dallas Advertising League named Colleen O’Kane to its board of directors, where she will be chairman of membership duties. O’Kane is senior principal and media director at Publicis/Bloom, Dallas.
The Austin-based Wayne division of Dresser Industries in Dallas promoted Shari Binford to marketing communications specialist. Binford has been with the company for five years. Dresser Industries also appointed Linda Silinsky as marketing communications director at the firm’s Dallas headquarters.
Bob Mickle, a longtime executive for building materials firms like McPhillips Manufacturing and Seabridge International, was hired as account supervisor at Flowers & Fedele in Dallas.
Judy Scholl was elevated to the post of vice president of customers at Jiffy Lube International in Houston. Among Scholl’s duties, she will evaluate Jiffy Lube’s advertising, customer relations and other communications activities.
David James joined Meltzer & Martin Public Relations in Dallas as account coordinator, serving client Sprint Business. James arrives from Fleishman-Hillard International Communications in Austin.
Video Post & Transfer in Dallas hired online video editor David Jennings. Jennings comes from Houston, where he was employed at Image Source and Bill Young Productions.
Bates Southwest in Houston added art director Roy Norman and assigned him to the GTE Wireless and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital accounts. Norman comes to Bates from McCann-Erickson Southwest, Houston.
Dick Barthelmes was appointed director of marketing programs at Digital Marketing Services, Dallas.
Carol Glover advanced to associate creative director at Witherspoon & Associates in Fort Worth, where she has held copywriter and senior copywriter posts since 1993.
Houston’s VT/TV Graphics hired Tracey Shappro as producer. Shappro had worked at the Houston location of Texas Video & Post.
Rives Carlberg in Houston made five recent personnel hires: senior art director Michael Tucker, art director Andy Hastings, senior copywriter Kent Portman, traffic manager Gail Cummings and assistant traffic manager Carter Miles.

Staats Falkenberg & Partners, Austin, named John Mannix vice president. He has been with the agency since 1991.

United Supermarkets of Lubbock designated Renƒe Underwood marketing director. Underwood arrived after serving a stint as direct marketing consultant for the regional Yellow Pages markets of San Antonio-based Southwestern Bell.
ARKANSAS
Kristen Earnhart was named public relations director at Thompson, Earnhart & Associates in Little Rock. Earnhart co-founded the agency in 1995.
Blackwood/Martin & Associates in Fayetteville added account executive Nicole Gattis from TLPartnership in Dallas and promoted Tania Prater to production assistant.
The Communications Group in Little Rock welcomed Tracy Saucy as account services assistant.
Amy Abdella was promoted to the position of account coordinator at Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods in Little Rock.

Logan Marketing in New Orleans hired account executive Stella Molina, who previously held the same post at New Orleans agency Peter A. Mayer Advertising.
NEW MEXICO
Rick Johnson & Co. added three staff members. New personnel at the Albuquerque agency are account executive Chris Moore, art director John Reams and print production buyer Holly Michelle Jones.
OKLAHOMA
Jordan Associates, Oklahoma City, promoted four management associates to vice presidencies. Those with new titles are production manager Jack Easterly, broadcast associate creative director Dan Martel, and media directors Jennifer Payne and Susie Noah.
