Mintz & Hoke in Avon promoted Dean

Simmons to vice president and management supervisor.


Jennifer Klumas has joined S.T. Vreeland Advertising in Yarmouth as vice president of operations and production. She had been with Coach/Mark Cross in New York. John Corsi, who joins S.T. Vreeland from Appleseeds in Beverly, Mass., was named production specialist. Leslie Beattie, formerly of Burgess Business Solutions in Bath, was tapped as an account executive for tourism, hospitality and consumer accounts. Christine Whitney was named office coordinator and media assistant. She had been with Auto Europe in Portland.

Tami Snow and Debbi Talbott were hired as account managers at Hauptman & Partners in Portland. Katelyn Chestnut joined as a graphic designer. Toni DeLois was installed as office manager.


Clarke & Company in Boston promoted Denise DesChenes to vice president in its crisis communications center.

Len Harmon was tapped as an account supervisor at the Donovan Group in Worcester. He had been with Simplex in Gardner.

WSBK-TV/UPN 38 in Boston hired Melissa Homsi and Marc Lehner as account executives. Homsi had been a media buyer and planner at Arnold Communications in Boston. Lehner was formerly general sales manager at WNDS-TV in Derry, N.H.

Christine Shaw was promoted to senior vice president and media director at Freeman Associates in Wellesley. Robert Keith was advanced to senior media planner. Adam Roberts was moved up to assistant media planner.

Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston named Alison Crumb media planner. She arrives from Arnold Communications in Boston. Darcy Hall, who had been with The Boston Herald, was named assistant media planner. Michael McMahon was tapped as assistant network buyer. He had been at Pro Media in Needham. Sean Westgate was hired as a Macintosh production artist. He had been with Simon & Schuster Publishing in Needham.

Kevin Gentile was appointed art director at CC&D Communications in Boston. He had been an art director at McDougall Associates in Peabody.

Thunder House in Cambridge named Brenton Walsh senior art director. He had been freelancing for Modem Media in Westport, Conn. Andrew Smiles, former Web site designer at Boston.com, joined as art director. Dana Ortegon-Spilios, formerly of Zillions magazine, was tapped as a copywriter.

Brian Kardon was promoted to senior vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer at Cahners Publishing Co. in Newton. He had been vice president of corporate marketing.

WABU-TV in Boston appointed Paul Wilson local sales manager. He had been national sales manager at WLVI-TV, also in Boston.

BBG New Media in Stoneham tapped John Buten as a marketing consultant.

Previously, he was an account planner at Chiat/Day in New York.

Stuart Swanson was promoted to senior account executive from account representitive at J.M. Perrone Company in Weymouth.

Woonteiler Ink in Waltham tapped Deborah Vlock as an account assistant.

She had been a visiting assistant professor of English at Boston College in Chestnut Hill.


The Granite Group in Bedford has tapped David Kimball to be vice president.

Kimball had run his own agency, Kimball Communications, which he merged into the Granite Group. Also at the agency, AnnMarie Craven was named assistant art director. She had been a graphic design student at the University of New Hampshire. Ali Rae was hired as an account coordinator.


The Providence Journal in Providence promoted Jeff Peffer to director of consumer marketing in its circulation department. He had been circulation promotion manager. Jenny Matteson was hired as an account executive at America House Communications in Newport. She had been an account manager at Lehman Millet in Boston.
