CONNECTICUT Mintz & Hoke in Avon has promoted Denis Gendreau to media planner, Pamela Sullivan to technical graphics manager and Paula Tycienski to account service coordinator. Jill Everett has joined Riley and Co. in Meriden as account manager. She had been public relations coordinator at Branson Gold Records, Branson, Mo. Tracy Hubbard and Kevin Robertson have joined Pappas MacDonnell in Southport as senior designers. Jeff Kimball, formerly vice president at Abernathy MacGregor Group in New York, has joined the agency as director. Astronet, the New Canaan-based developer of a Web site devoted to astrology, has added Kitti Fisher as programming manager, Barbara Cantone as director of commerce and Kevin Kirwan as production assistant. Molly Gilmore has joined Keiler & Co. in Farmington as associate creative director. She had been a creative supervisor at Barry Blau & Partners in Fairfield. Prior to that, she worked as a copywriter at Bronner Slosberg Humphrey in Boston. MAINE Renƒe Fournier has been tapped by Thibault Paolini Design Associates in Portland as a graphic designer. She will oversee the development of consumer and trade catalogs, corporate identity materials and retail signage. MASSACHUSETTS Maureen Wolff-Reid has been named president of Sharon Merrill Associates in Boston. She had been vice president and general manager of the shop, which specializes in investor relations. In her new post, she will supervise all account activity, oversee new business development and manage day-to-day operations. Agency founder Sharon Merrill will continue as chairman and chief executive officer. The Massachusetts Interactive Media Council has added V.A. Shiva and Bimal Sareen to its board of directors. Pamet River Partners in Boston has announced four new hires in its creative department: Rob Daviau and Tim Mamis, senior copywriters; David Klay, senior art director; and Jen Fritz, art director. Boston-based Lehman Millet has named Arvi Raquel-Santos designer and Julie Vincent copywriter. Gary Duffy and Hope Krakoff have joined the shop as account directors. Chris LaBruzzo has been tapped by Harpell/Martins in Maynard as business development manager. He had been marketing manager at Sherwin Williams, where he managed all retail and wholesale operations at the company's Stoughton office. Maryann Czerepak has joined the agency as production manager. Karen Waxman has been named production manager at BBL in Acton. TFA in Boston has added Susan Dwyer as senior art director, Gareth Gwynne as a copywriter, Ted Smith as an art director, John Gomes as a graphic designer, Jackie McVey as an account supervisor and Kelly Cashman as new business manager. Gary Beach has been named publisher of CIO Communications, a publication of the International Data Group in Framingham. Beach has held several management posts at IDG magazines in his 10 years with the company. Fox Sports Cable Sales has tapped Stephen Baker to head up its new Boston office as vice president and New England sales manger. Baker had been with Rainbow Sports Sales in Boston. Kathleen Condrick, also previously with Rainbow, has come aboard as sales assistant. NEW HAMPSHIRE Communications Management International of Bedford has appointed Ken Melchin director of sales. Melchin has a 15-year background in marketing and sales, most recently with MDI Creative, where he served as Northeast sales and marketing manager. RHODE ISLAND Senior copywriter Robert Borges has joined Rivers Doyle Walsh & Co. in Providence from Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston. Bob Murphy, from Grey Advertising in New York, has joined the shop as a copywriter and will work on its Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Lifespan and University of Massachusetts Medical Center accounts. According to agency president Michael Doyle, the two new hires will help take up the slack left by the departure of co-creative director Bob Mariani, who is pursuing a freelance career. Michael Schrier has been tapped by Ross-Simons in Cranston as director of jewelry merchandising for the company's catalog division.
