NEW YORKNew York Women in Communications elected new officers to its board. Debra Shriver, vice president and chief communications officer for The Hearst Corp., is president for 2000-01, and Patrice Tanaka, a co-founder of PT&Co., is president-elect. New board members are Anne Keating, senior vice president of public relations, special events and corporate philanthropy, Blooming dale's; Stephanie Stokes Oliver, vice president and editor-in-chief of NiaOnline; Judith Rizzo, deputy chancellor for instruction of the New York City Public Schools; Lori Schwab, a consultant working with emerging technologies and traditional media clients; and Sherrie Rollins Westin, executive vice president of marketing, communications and research for Sesame Work shop.Joel Sobelson was named creative director for Wunderman's New York office. He reports to David Sable, New York president and CEO. Sobelson previously served as a group creative director at FCB New York. Wun derman is a division of Young & Rubi cam Inc.Peyton Sise was appointed director of business development at Toolbox, a newly created position. Prior to joining the New York-based shop, she served as executive vice president, director of client services for Oasis.Mezzina Brown & Partners in New York promoted David Kreinik to senior associate, director of marketing, a newly created position. In his new role, he has management responsibility for an internal team and for developing marketing proposals for new-business pros pects; he also continues to work on new-prospect contact and relationship development. He most recently worked as director of marketing.G+J USA Publishing in New York promoted Barbara LaPlaca to executive director, corporate marketing and pro motion for G+J USA. She most recently worked as marketing director for Rosie magazine.Gary Scheiner and Bernard Urban were elevated to senior vice president, creative director posts at MRM Partners New York, effective immediately. They previously worked as vice presidents, associate creative directors of the agency, the flagship office of MRM Partners Worldwide.Media Logic in Albany hired two new staffers. Chris Iula was named graphic artist, working on Visa; he previously worked at Benchmark Printing. Jenny Andrews was appointed assistant production manager; she formerly was at Promethean in Wappingers Falls.Crowley Webb and Associates named Kathy Kolis an account supervisor. Prior to joining the agency, which has offices in Buffalo and New York, she was an account supervisor at Travers/Collins/ Partners.Thomas Livaccari was appointed vice president of sales and marketing at Drumbeat Digital in New York. He most recently worked as vice president of business development and account management for Dennis Interactive. NEW JERSEYThomas Ferguson Associates, a founding agency of CommonHealth in Parsippany, promoted seven staffers and hired five. Evelyn Roces was ele vated to senior vice president, director of strategic planning, and continues in her role of management supervisor; she was formerly vice president, director of strategic planning. Eric Fohl rose to vice president, account group supervisor; he most recently worked as account group supervisor. Carol Waters was promoted to vice president, group art supervisor; she previously served as group art supervisor. Lisanne Gray Budwick was named senior art director; her prior post was art director. Beth Flatley was elevated to senior copywriter; she was most recently copywriter. Greg Gago rose to account executive; he formerly served as an assistant account executive. Julia Faraldo was promoted to assistant account executive; she was previously a traf fic coordinator. Kara McConnell was appointed an account supervisor; she formerly worked at Merck-Medco in Frank lin Lakes. Jill Ciperski was named a senior account executive; she previously worked at Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical in Raritan as a professional sales representative. B.J. Maffucci joined as a senior account executive; he most recently was at Foti & Lazo/Clin ical Insights in New York. Amy Zurlo arrived as an account executive; she was formerly a service line man ager for the New York University Compre hensive Epilepsy Program at the New York University Medical Center. Diane Larris was named an editor; she previ ously was an editorial associate for the journal Cancer, produced by the American Can cer Society. PENNSYLVANIAAgnew & Corrigan Advertising in Lancaster appointed Lindsay Simmons junior art director. She graduated from the Pennsylvania School of Art and Design in May, and interned with the shop in the summer of 2000.
