EPB Communications, New York, has recently named Rusty Nype managing partner and chief marketing officer of EPB Partners. He had held senior positions at such companies as Lintas Worldwide and Young & Rubicam, both in New York.
Joe Fisher has succeeded Chris Komisarjevsky as president and chief executive officer of Burson-Marsteller USA. In October 1998, Komisarjevsky became chief executive of Burson-Marsteller Worldwide; since then, Don Cogman, president and chief operating officer worldwide, has temporarily held the U.S. chief executive officer title. Fisher was previously president of Marsteller Advertising, where his primary responsibility was managing the global Citibank account. Burson has yet to name a successor to Fisher.
Heather Mahan has joined Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York, as an account supervisor working on Kansas City Power & Light. She was previously an account supervisor on Compaq at DDB Worldwide, also in New York.
Bates USA in New York has promoted svp, group creative director Jon Terzis to evp. He works on the Lucky Strike, Kool and Capri brands for client Brown & Williamson.
Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York, promoted Linda Freeman to media planner from assistant planner. Prior to joining the agency, she was operations manager at CMA, a division of True North Media.
Warwick Baker O’Neill, New York, named Denise Greenwood account planning director. She joined the agency from Angotti, Thomas, Hedge in New York.
Korey Kay & Partners, New York, hired six staffers. Andrew Fuente was named account coordinator; Jennifer Haller joined the agency as an account executive from R&R Advertising in Las Vegas, where she was an account manager; Richard Look was appointed print production coordinator after serving as a production assistant at Grace & Rothschild in New York; Kim Mennona arrived as a senior account executive from Serino Coyne in New York; Debbie Sokol was named proofreader; and Josh Wade was named production assistant.
DiMassimo Brand Advertising, New York, promoted Lee Goldstein to vice president, director of business development, from director of business development.
Michelle Starr joined the New York office of Pro Health, the medical education division of True North Communications, as a senior vice president. She was most recently managing director of The Medicus Group’s Bio-Dialogue unit, which was launched early this year.
Media Logic in Albany named John DeCelle account supervisor. He was previously vice president of sales and services at Albank.
ResponseLogic, New York, named James Vander Putten senior vice president, database marketing services. He was previously a senior vice president at Levett Koenig Farese and Babcock, a New York marketing consultancy.
The Ad Council, New York, has recently promoted George Perlov to senior vice president, team leader. He joined the organization last year in the capacity of vice president, director of planning and research.
Susan Green was promoted to senior vice president, client development director at Rapp Collins Worldwide in New York. In her new role, she becomes a member of the New York office’s executive committee. She joined Rapp Collins in 1994 as senior vice president, account director, overseeing the Delta Air Lines account.
Eric Mower and Associates, Rochester, added three staffers. Jan LoPresti joined the agency as a senior account supervisor; she was previously an account director at Catalyst Direct. Melynda Nadiak was named graphic designer; she most recently produced collateral material at DePaul. Sonya Wood was hired as an administrative assistant. Separately, the Public Relations Society of America awarded accreditation to EMA partner and public relations director Gregory Loh and account supervisor Jennifer Thompson.
