TEXAS Vollmer Public Relations, Houston, hired the following new personnel: account supervisor Stephanie Jensen; senior account executives Andrea Riffle and Blythe Palamara; and assistant account executives Dawn Caesar, Alicia Jones, Karyn Guth and Ryan Rice. The Houston Chronicle promoted Nelle Spates to director of administration, marketing and electronic products and Kathleen Worthington McQueary to advertising, promotion and electronic product sales director. Spates was previously marketing operations manager; McQueary served as new media sales and marketing manager. Richard Huntoon was elevated to vice president of marketing and sales at American Pad & Paper Co.'s Williamhouse division, Dallas. The Ad 2 Houston club has elected its 1998-99 board of directors. The executive board consists of chairman and treasurer Kristyn Roberts, president Kathyrn Giansanti, secretary Tiffany Natkin, and advisor and Houston Advertising Federation liaison Dwight Douthit. Other directors are Jenna Wright, Crystal Brown, Sobana Varghese, Deanna Cox, Ginny Sanders, Lanette Varnadoe, Shawn Gustafson and Keenan Glass. Witherspoon & Associates in Fort Worth hired media buyer and planner Gary Drummond, formerly a promotions coordinator and music buyer at Joshua's Christian Stores, also in Fort Worth. Rhonda Fulton joined Wheeler Advertising, Arlington, as account supervisor. Fulton previously owned Dealer Direct, a direct mail firm in Grand Prairie. The Beaird Agency in Dallas promoted account service director Denise Jordan to vice president. Jordan has been on staff at Beaird for more than two years. The agency also hired account executive Gretchen Linn, previously a marketing assistant with David Griffin Realtors in Dallas; and associate art director Christopher Stanley, a former art director at Dallas' Caddy Printing and Graphics. Brierley & Partners in Dallas appointed Louis Ramery executive vice president of marketing and planning, Lawrence Bello executive vice president and chief financial officer, and David Kubes senior vice president of account management and general manager. Eric Foster was tapped as senior copywriter at Stuart Bacon, Fort Worth. Foster was a copywriter at Regian & Wilson, also Fort Worth. Renegade Communications welcomed Tom Rowe as executive vice president of marketing and as a partner in the Richardson agency. Rowe previously was an independent consultant. Duncan Hopkins, formerly of Stark Hopkins Scott in Austin, has formed his own agency, Syndetic Design in Austin. Hopkins also served as art director at SicolaMartin, Austin. Isabel Royer was named senior account executive at Tocquigny Advertising & Design in Austin. Royer formerly was marketing manager for AT&T in Chicago. Angela West was hired as manager of public relations at Promotional Products Association International, a trade organization in Irving. West previously was public relations coordinator for Core Marketing, Dallas. Dallas-based animation, three-dimensional and visual effects studio Janimation added Robert Curlin as marketing director, a newly created post. Curlin spent the past four years as an independent television commercial producer. Elliptus Software Solutions in Houston designated Steve Shubick chief marketing officer and senior vice president. Richards/Gravelle in Dallas promoted account supervisor Joy Frederick to account director, and senior account executive Stacie Cross to account supervisor. Regnier, Valdez & Associates, San Antonio, hired public relations assistant Shannon Retrum, a former intern and recent graduate. ARKANSAS PetQuarters in Lonoke advanced vice president of sales and marketing Steven Dempsey to president and chief executive officer. LOUISIANA Zehnder Communications in New Orleans hired public relations director Kristen Lewis, who held the same title at the Royal Sonesta and Chateau Sonesta Hotels in New Orleans. The agency also added public relations assistant John Carr. Previously, Carr was an intern at the Ochsner Health Care public affairs department in New Orleans. OKLAHOMA Littlefield Marketing & Advertising, Tulsa, brought in senior art director Steve Kolker. Kolker arrived from Blackwood Martin & Associates in Fayetteville, Ark., where he served as senior art director. The Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association, Oklahoma City, appointed Michelle Owen its director of membership and marketing.
