CONNECTICUT Gail Palmer has joined O'Neal & Prelle in Hartford as vice president of public relations. Palmer most recently served as national director of marketing and communications for Coopers & Lybrand in New York, where she has worked for the past 10 years. Prior to that, she was a newspaper reporter and editor in Connecticut. Williams and House in Avon has tapped Christina Divigard as communications planner and Mary Lou Domian as project manager. Divigard was most recently an account manager with Cronin/Synergy Marketing Solutions in Glastonbury. Domian previously served as marketing director at Tom Hopkins Studio/Stannard Pond Creative Group in Madison. Jason Hawkins has been hired as an editor, videographer and animator by Moving Pictures Video & Film in Glastonbury. Hawkins had been with Storyline Pictures. Cronin & Co. in Glastonbury has announced the following additions to its staff: Sandi Wallace and Scott Porter, account supervisors; Alana Kantor and Kimberly McGrath, account executives; and Tracie Pfeifer, production assistant. In addition, Pamela Soisson has been promoted to account executive from assistant account executive. MASSACHUSETTS Ken Gleason has joined Gearon Hoffman in Boston as a senior copywriter. He had been at Publicis/Bloom, New York. The agency also has tapped freelancer Richard Menard as a full-time art director. Amergent, a direct marketing firm in Peabody, has named Peter Gwinn vice president and creative director. Gwinn was most recently associate creative director at Cyrk in Gloucester. Cone Communications in Boston has announced the following promotions: Jennifer Roy, from account executive to senior account executive; Amy Ecker, from media relations associate to media specialist; Scott Martin and Adeeva Wang, from account specialists to account executives; and Ian Stanton and Jeff Wright, from account coordinators to account specialists. Boston-based TFA Communications has hired Debra Davis as director of business development. Davis had been director of marketing services at Harpell/Martins & Co. in Maynard. EMI Strategic Marketing in Boston has tapped Jill Bouchard as account director, Jennifer Grinnell and Claudia Woods as account managers, Sarah Whipple as account associate, Nelson Ng as designer and Chris Lee as copywriter. Marenghi & Associates in Wellesley has hired Dawn Cadey as managing director, Andrea Dumont as account manager and Jacqui Darling and Tim Willeford as account coordinators. The Weber Group in Cambridge has announced the following promotions: Susan Breuer and Beth Morrissey, account supervisors; and Monique Klares and Laureen McGowan, senior account executives. Gray & Rice Public Relations in Boston has tapped Bryan Furze as account coordinator. Furze is a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Cadmus Custom Publishing in Boston has hired Barbara Emerson as business development director and Alexa Mukherjee as business development specialist. Emerson was most recently with Horticulture Magazine, and Mukherjee was an account executive with Aetna U.S. Healthcare. Parents' Plus in Jamaica Plain, which publishes Boston Parents Paper and New England Booming, among others, has named Kevin Miller sales director. He had been at The Improper Bostonian. Custom Communications Partners in Boston has appointed David Brittan managing editor. Brittan was previously director of publications at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management, where he worked as an editor and writer at High Technology, Issues in Science and Technology and MIT's Technology Review. NEW HAMPSHIRE Melissa Nordstrom has joined Carella & Co. in North Hampton as account executive. Nordstrom was most recently a senior account manager with WT Quinn. RHODE ISLAND Gail Wagner has been appointed manager of public relations for Donnelly & Duncan in East Providence. She was promoted from account executive. The shop also has named Jane Christopher to its account management team from RDW Group in Providence. Anna Barcelos has been tapped as marketing communications coordinator at Arconium/Oster Alloys in Providence. Barcelos was most recently with Invincible Technologies in Medway, Mass. VERMONT Shark Interactive in Burlington has hired Matt Geary as interactive manager. The University of Vermont graduate was a member of the team that launched Urbanwhere.com, a Web site that sells hip-hop clothing.
