NEW YORK Mad Dogs & Englishmen voted three of its veteran employees partners in the New York agency: group creative director Mikal Reich, finance director David Drucker and production director Valerie Hope. Ric Brittain and Jackie Anderson were appointed senior vice presidents and directors of information technology and broadcast services, respectively, at ABP/DraftWorldwide in New York. McCann Relationship Marketing in New York promoted vice president and senior copywriter Gary Scheiner to vice president and associate creative director. Prior to joining MRM in 1995, Scheiner spent more than five years at Ogilvy & Mather Direct, also in New York. Maryam Banikarim, formerly with Macmillan Publishing, joined Ammirati Puris Lintas in New York as senior vice president and group project director of new communications. Euro RSCG Worldwide in New York installed Hans Burgers as director of worldwide business development. Prior to spending the last year working for the agency in Europe, Burgers was managing director and chief executive officer of McCann-Erickson International in Germany. Claire Hassid progressed to senior vice president and group planning director at Saatchi & Saatchi, New York, from senior vice president and strategic planner on worldwide projects for the agency's Gillette and Procter & Gamble accounts. Hassid's 23-year advertising career also includes stints at Grey Advertising and Ketchum Advertising. Sports Illustrated for Kids, a Time Inc. magazine in New York, designated Shaun Gurl associate publisher and general manager, Gail Day associate publisher and advertising director and Gabrielle Severini marketing director. Christopher Foss, executive assistant to Bozell Worldwide president and chief executive officer David Bell, was elected a partner at the New York agency. Foss joined Bozell in March 1994. The Advertising Council in New York promoted Patricia Mitchell to vice president of creative services and Rachel Cruz to vice president of national media development. Mitchell and Cruz have been with the Advertising Council since 1992 and 1996, respectively. Sarah Hatch joined the staff of Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG in New York as director of strategic planning, the same post she held at Bates USA. Rochester-based Buck & Pulleyn elevated Kate Sonnick to associate creative director and Tracey Fitzgerald to senior account executive. The agency also added three staff members: Kurt Pakan as senior art director, Jon Scott Emery as senior designer and Jim Kordenbrock as management supervisor. Christopher Czarkowski, former account manager of international and Latin American advertising sales for Discovery Communications, was chosen manager of international advertising sales at ESPN's New York office. Eric Mower and Associates assigned Melanie Lee to its Albany office as a senior account executive. Previously, Lee was an account manager at BFG Communications, also in Albany. Katy Barr, most recently director of marketing at Better Homes and Gardens magazine, was designated executive director of marketing at The Hearst Group in New York. Grey Advertising subsidiary GCI Group in New York tapped Jim Cox, a former senior executive at Hill & Knowlton, executive vice president and managing director of its North American corporate practice. Frank Gallon progressed to chief financial officer of R/GA Digital Studios in New York. The New York Times Co. in New York named Cynthia Augustine senior vice president of human resources. Richard Wilde, who chairs the graphic design and advertising departments at New York's School of Visual Arts, became senior vice president of graphic design at Ryan Drossman & Partners in New York. RD&P also selected Bobbie Howard director of production services and Holly Jeffery director of traffic. Mountain View, Calif.-based Quote.com, an online financial information service, advanced Eric Merkow to Eastern region account manager at its New York office. Janice Garjian moved up to vice president of corporate planning at the Television Bureau of Advertising in New York. Maury Rogoff Public Relations in New York promoted senior account supervisor Shoshana Dichter to vice president, a new post at the agency. Pam Harris, who began her career at Grey Advertising, was appointed senior vice president of marketing for Madison Square Garden in New York. Capital Publishing in New York added Jim McCabe as financial and New York advertising manager of Worth magazine and Amy Oellrich as account manager for The American Benefactor. Lyn Familant, formerly with D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, arrived at Discovery Networks in New York as director of the advertising sales marketing division. The unit also named Michael Yavorsky director of sponsorships and Jill Stamos director of partnerships. NEW JERSEY The Lunar Group, Whippany, promoted Dawn Clyburn to vice president and director of traffic services, Dawn Arturi Reynolds to senior account executive and Jennifer Karkowsky to account executive. The agency also added Regina Catalano as senior copywriter, Julie Kein and Patricia Shagawat as account executives and Valerie Kerr as studio artist. Harrison Wilson & Associates, Parsippany, hired Marcia Blaustein as copy supervisor, Jodi Colasurdo as project coordinator in its Promeda division and Sandra McAdam as meeting planner.
