NEW YORK Foote Cone & Belding, New York, appointed Elizabeth Shanklin executive vice president, worldwide account director on the AT&T business. She had been senior vice president, group account director, overseeing 3Com and new business for the interactive group at FCB's Chicago office. Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York, made several promotions and hires. Susan Cantor was promoted to senior vice president, group director from senior vice president, management supervisor. Tony Tashkoff will head regional branding efforts for client GMC in the new post of senior vice president, regional account director. He had been a regional general manager on the Infiniti/Nissan business at TBWA/ Chiat/Day, Los Angeles. Paul Ahrens, formerly of McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C., was named vice president, management supervisor. Lisa Rettig-Falcone was appointed senior vice president, associate creative director on the regional GMC business, a new position. She arrives from DDB Needham, New York, where she was a creative director. Doreen Doell Massin was hired as vice president, group director on GMC. She had been vice president, associate director of strategic services at Grey Advertising. Lee Doyle was named executive vice president, managing director, media, from executive vice president, director of media services, and will head GMC's media efforts. Kieran Colman joined APL as vice president, associate media director, regional, from TBS Media Management, where she was vice president, account planning director. Zenith Media USA, New York, reorganized its strategic media resources group, hiring Helen Katz to head the unit as vice president, director of strategic resources. She was most recently vice president, media research manager at Optimum Media in Chicago. Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York, promoted both Kevin Roddy and Taras Wayner to associate creative director. Roddy was hired as a senior copywriter; Wayner joined the agency as senior art director in 1997 from Odiorne Wilde Narraway & Partners in San Francisco. Bozell Worldwide, New York, named Kathryn Woods director, communications, a new position. She will be responsible for the shop's public relations and corporate communications. Woods had been director, public relations at Landor Associates. Hanft Byrne Raboy, New York, hired Chet Halperin as director of new business development. He previously held that title at Dweck & Campbell, New York. The Geppetto Group, New York, hired Steve Ingkavet as senior art director. He had been a freelance art director and designer. The Association of Asian American Advertising Agencies appointed officers from both East and West Coast shops. Among the New York executives elected: Eliot Kang, president and chief executive of Kang & Lee Advertising, named president of the group; Joseph Lam, president, L3 Advertising, appointed treasurer; and Zan Ng, president, Admerasia, named a board member. Edward Boudreau joined Cowley Associates, Syracuse, as director of strategic planning and business development. He previously spent two years in Ghana, West Africa, where he established an ecotourism operation. Media Logic, Albany, promoted two staffers: Phyllis Niner advanced to account supervisor from senior account executive and Jim Sciancalepore advanced to creative director from associate creative director. The Clio Awards, New York, has named the 1999 jurors for its first Interactive Advertising Gala. It will be chaired by G.M. O'Donnell, president and chief executive of Westport, Conn.-based Modem Media.Poppe Tyson. Among the staffers from New York shops who will serve as jurors: Noel Caban, senior creative director, Grey Interactive; Brian Cauley, president, APL Digital; Matt Freeman, co-chief creative director and managing partner, DDB Digital; Angela Fung, creative director, new media, radical. media; and Carla Hendra, president, OgilvyOne Interactive. Branding and design consultancy Landor Associates, New York, appointed Eric Olson design director, corporate identity. Also, Stacey Greenspan and Kristine Grunsted were both named senior consultant. Broadway Video, New York, promoted Andrea Baker to corporate vice president, operations and administration. She had been vice president, director of operations. Farmingdale direct marketing agency 21st Century Marketing appointed Lynn Fischler national sales manager. Prior to joining the agency, she was director of list services at Ziff-Davis, New York. Kim Jamison-Henry was named group advertising director at The Hearst Group, New York. She was a group account manager. Jeff Christian was hired as ad director at American Baby. He had been an account manager with the magazine since 1996. Larry Frenkel joined the board of directors at Moody Communications, New York. He previously had his own law practice in Rockland County, N.Y., specializing in tax, real estate, corporate and commercial law. Platinum Design, New York, promoted Victoria Stamm to vice president, creative director. The shop also elevated Kelly Hogg and Mike Joyce to art director. They had both been designers at Platinum. Frank Rigano was named executive vice president, operations and administration of the Direct Marketing Association, New York. He previously spent 18 years with the American Management Association, most recently as senior vice president, business services. Us, New York, appointed Michelle Thorpe advertising director. She had been Eastern advertising manager at Allure. The Buena Vista Publishing Group, New York, promoted Dana Colasante to new business director for the magazine division. She joined the company in 1996 as senior new business manager for FamilyFun, Disney Magazine, Disney Adventures and Discover. Spectacolor Communications, New York, promoted Barry Kula to vice president, sales and marketing. Jack Gallgher was also hired as director of specialized marketing. Visa USA, New York, added Jennifer Hemmer and George Perry as directors in its event and sponsorship marketing division. They will develop marketing plans for the Olympics, National Football League, Visa Triple Crown Challenge, and Nascar. Hemmer was most recently director of marketing partnerships at the National Basketball Association. Perry was previously marketing director, football, for Starter in New Haven, Conn. NEW JERSEY The Sawtooth Group, Woodbridge, promoted Drew Schinderman to assistant account executive on Coldwell Banker. He had been an account coordinator. Paramus promotion agency Einson Freeman appointed Tracy Sancilio senior account executive for the agency's Sunsweet, Lever and Eli Lilly accounts. She was previously an account executive at Dugan Valva Contess in Morristown. Healthcare communications firm Ribotsky Worldwide, Somerset, hired two staffers and promoted one: Kathleen O'Leary joined as an account supervisor; she had been at Integrated Communications. Krista Held was named assistant art director; she was previously at Media Graphics. Lisa Ann DeBacco was appointed copywriter; she was formerly at Adient. Peter Hoffman also advanced to senior art director, new media specialist from art director. PENNSYLVANIA Joseph Ball, president of American Advertising Services, Philadelphia, was named to the board of advisors of the U.S. International Film and Video Festival. His committee will judge advertising entries in the category of consumer/patient-oriented medicine and health. Biologix Communications, Philadelphia, hired Kimberly Law as an account executive. She was previously a project manager at Complete Healthcare Communications in Chadds Ford. Recent Kutztown University graduate Bill Horan also signed on as a graphic designer. Diane Opalenick was promoted to art director from senior graphic designer. Two staffers joined White, Good & Co., Lebanon. Marie Hatkevich was named vice president, account supervisor on the agency's D&E Communications and Wilmington Savings Fund Society accounts. Daniel Longenderfer was also appointed account manager; he will handle Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry and the Wilmington Savings Fund Society. Philadelphia-based Human Touch InterMedia added Erin McKenna as a developer. She recently earned an advanced degree in specialized technology at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. CONNECTICUT Mason & Madison, New Haven, hired Jeffrey Berman as senior account executive, Chris Albee as account planner and Terry Chriswell as account executive in the advertising department. Berman was an account executive with Stanton Crenshaw Communications, New York. Albee was an account executive at Rockett, Burkhead, Lewis in Raleigh, N.C. Chriswell was with Keiler & Co. in Farmington. O'Neal & Prelle, Hartford, has hired Joe Campolieta as vice president, marketing. He had been a senior marketing strategist at Moore Medical, New Britain. Structural Graphics, Essex, hired Heather Barrett as New York account manager.
