Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York, reported two promotions: Mira Fein and Barry Lowenthal have been elevated to group media director from associate media director. Bernice Mosca has joined Seiter & Miller Advertising, New York, as management supervisor on the agency's AXA/Equitable account. Mosca had been an account supervisor at N.W. Ayer & Partners, New York. Media Logic, Albany, has promoted Chris McRobbie to art director. McRobbie had been a designer and illustrator at the advertising, design, marketing and public relations firm since 1994. People En Espa-ol, New York, has appointed Luisa Fairborne and Rodolof Balderrama as regional sales directors. Fairborne will oversee the Midwest, South and East, while Balderrama will be responsible for the West Coast, Texas, the Southwest and the Rocky Mountains. The Parenting Group, New York, has appointed Ann Lundberg publisher of Parenting's Baby Talk and Parenting's Healthy Pregnancy magazines. She had been New England manager for Vogue. Steven Smith was tapped to succeed James Fallows as editor of U.S. News & World Report, New York. Smith was most recently editor of National Journal. Former Federal Trade Commissioner and Bush administration official Roscoe Burton Starek has been named senior vice president, catalog industry, of the Direct Marketing Association in New York. Ilene Rapkin has been tapped as publisher of Modern Bride magazine, New York. Rapkin comes from Conde Nast Publications, also New York, where she served as associate publisher for Conde Nast Traveler and Bon Appetit. Power & Motoryacht magazine, New York, has named Robert Koeppl Northeast sales manager and New York consumer sales manager. Koeppl had been ad sales manager at Sigs Publications, New York. Thomas Murphy was named executive vice president, marketing and sales, at Simmons Market Research Bureau, New York. He had been vice president, sales, at Mediamark Research. Conde Nast Traveler, New York, has named two new staff members: Cindy Schreibman, former sales development director of The New Yorker, as national advertising manager; and Carmen Lopez, former vice president, managing director, The New Yorker, as Los Angeles manager. Cerene Jordan has been appointed to the new position of business director by Mademoiselle, New York. She had been controller of Primedia Consumer Magazines, also New York. Modern Bride, New York, has named Stacy Morrison editor-in-chief. Morrison is the former managing editor of both Conde Nast Sports for Women and Time Out New York. Conde Nast House & Garden, New York, has elevated Pamela Madden to promotion and merchandising director and Gabrielle Garofalo to creative services director.
