Cynthia Rubsamen joined Houston firm Pennebaker.LMC to provide marketing strategy and account service. Rubsamen previously was with Richards/Gravelle, Dallas, for more than 10 years.
Vollmer Public Relations, Houston, recently added two account executives with technical backgrounds. Madonna Smith, formerly copywriter for Texas Micro in Dallas, will provide support for the Shell Chemicals and Kaneka Texas Corp. accounts. Michelle Maverick was recruited from her marketing coordinator post at InvenSys Ltd., Dallas, to work on the shop’s Air Liquide America and Metamor Worldwide business.
Dallas post-production facility Charlieuniformtango promoted Missey Dobbs to marketing director. Dobbs joined the company in October 1996 as project coordinator, increasing her responsibility in marketing and sales since that time.
VTEL, Austin, advanced Barry Rumac to vice president of corporate communications. Rumac was the company’s senior director of corporate communications since 1996. Previously, he worked on advertising for Dell Computer, Austin, and later owned and operated a marketing communications firm.
Temerlin McClain, Irving, promoted five staff members. Assistant media planners Stefanie Carroll and Gina Rodarte were designated media planners on the agency’s Paramount Parks and Subaru accounts, respectively; project manager Laura Clenney progressed to assistant account executive on GTE Direct; traffic coordinator Julie Grimm was elevated to a project manager’s position; and project manager Lisa Thompson was tapped to handle the print business manager’s role for NationsBank, American Airlines and Bell Helicopter.
Felicia Hilario arrived at Dallas-based Web site development company Espidotcom as design director. Hilario previously was on staff at D Animation in Dallas as a computer graphics animator.
Richard Langseth was elevated to client services director at TechKnowledge Consulting Corp., Houston, after spending two years as the company’s technology consultant.
Digital Domain of Austin hired studio manager Julie Vickers Westervelt, formerly of Avenue Edit in Chicago and GSD&M of Austin.
Marty Ybarra was selected to lead the in-house audio and visual presentation services of the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Dallas. Ybarra was recently director of sales for AVW Audio-Visual, Dallas, and has 15 years experience in audio-visual sales, operations and management.
The Container Store, Dallas, has assembled a new in-house marketing team. Marketing manager Colleen Monroe was promoted to advertising director, and Lucy Witte moved up from marketing manager to assume Monroe’s former post. Appointed marketing managers were John Thrailkill and Casey Priest. Thrailkill was recently manager of the company’s Fort Worth store, while Priest served as Container’s public relations and marketing supervisor.
