TEXAS Montemayor y Asociados, San Antonio, appointed Edgardo de la Garza as an account planner. Previously employed as a strategic planning coordinator at Bromley, Aguilar & Associates in San Antonio, he will serve clients such as Chrysler Corp., Gambrinus, Continental Airlines and Sabormex, among others. Regian & Wilson Advertising & Public Relations in Fort Worth has hired four account coordinators: Kristi Favor, formerly advertising coordinator at The Business Press, Fort Worth; Julie Garcia, previously a Dallas-based communications coordinator for Dave & Buster's; Andrea Moore, recently a media relations staffer at Carter & Burgess in Fort Worth; and Heather Wilson Dooley, who was an account executive for Lone Star Park, Grand Prairie. KRIV-TV, Channel 26 in Houston welcomed aboard new account executive Jill Galarneau. D Magazine in Dallas hired three new sales account executives: Claudia Beseda-Burns, formerly associate publisher and advertising director with The Met and Texas Business; Christi Newman, recently with The Met; and Blake Cummings, who was with Dallas-based Epoch Internet. D also welcomed advertising and marketing art director Jeff Rutledge. Paige Buddeki joined Seltel, Houston, as account executive. Crystal Bell arrived at Flowserve Corp., Dallas, as director of investor relations and corporate communications, a newly created position at the company. Previously, Bell was employed by Triton Energy Limited, Dallas, as director of investor relations since 1994. Kirsten Puchacz moved to Tocquigny Advertising and Design, Austin, as media director. She was formerly media supervisor at DDB Needham Dallas. Also new to Tocquigny are senior account executive Isabel Royer, formerly market manager for AT&T, Chicago; account executive Amy Chibib, from project manager at IntelliQuest, Austin; and senior writer Suzanne Stavinoha, who operated a freelance business in Dallas. The agency also promoted advertising assistant Jennifer Turley to account coordinator. Sue Austin joined Aries Productions, Arlington, as producer. She was previously with Impact Productions. 501 Post in Austin named Dan Clougherty its new creative editor. He previously was with Jigsaw Editorial, Los Angeles. The Forbes Group stayed in-house to tap John Barrett and Thomas Miller as strategic services directors. Barrett has four years of research experience with the company, while Miller joined in 1996 as strategic services manager. Michael Briggs joined KRBE-FM, Houston, as account executive. Jim Main was appointed regional manager for trade magazines Office Systems and Office Dealer, issued by Quality Publishing in The Woodlands. Main formerly was sales director for TeleCard World magazine. Account executive Geoff Campbell was promoted to national sales manager of KTXH-TV, Channel 20, Houston. Atlantic Premium Brands in North brook, Ill., assigned Steven Englander to the newly created position of vice president of marketing. He will be located in Dallas and report directly to Alan Sussna, president and chief executive officer. Most recently, Englander served as vice president of marketing at Morningstar Foods in Dallas. Joanne Gandy arrived at KHTV, Channel 39, Houston, as account executive. She was formerly with Coastal Corp., also located in Houston. KTFH TV, Channel 49 in Houston, has tapped Mike Kay as local sales manager. Ken Maxwell, previously vice president and director of creative marketing at Halcyon Associates in Dallas, was installed as creative director of visual communications at BSMG Worldwide/Southwest in Dallas. He also once co-owned his own Dallas agency, Maxwell/ Sandoz Advertising and Design. The Houston chapter of the American Marketing Association has named its 1998-1999 board of directors. Officers include president Debra Shniderson, president-elect Susan Saurage-Altenloh, secretary Norma Head, treasurer Jackie Feldman-Biggs, past president Gary Carson and vice presidents Joe Fournet, Colin Hageney, Clive Mettrick and Debra Brown. Lara Bell was chosen public affairs director for KTBU, Channel 55, Houston. NEW MEXICO The Garrity Group recently appointed Susan Wilson account executive. Wilson has been with the Albuquerque public relations firm since 1997. OKLAHOMA Logix Communications, Oklahoma City, moved up E. Jay Emmet to vice president of marketing. Emmet joined Logix in 1997 as director of voice marketing. Littlefield Marketing & Advertising in Tulsa, recently promoted four employees. Libby Bender was elevated from account planning director to vice president of strategic and account planning; Billy Kulkin progressed from assistant account manager to account manager; production services director Caroline Wirt advanced to creative services director; and senior copywriter Tom Wirt became associate creative director.
