Bates Worldwide has promoted Jean de Yturbe, Ian Smith and Bill Whitehead, all executive directors of parent Cordiant Communications Group, to group presidents, with new responsibilities. De Yturbe will be responsible for CCG business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. Smith will be responsible for Asia and Australia, and will oversee existing and new global business. Whitehead will handle North and South America, and will be responsible for developing CCG’s recent acquisition, Diamond Ad, Hyundai’s house ad agency based in Korea, into an international agency.
Sterling Group, New York, has appointed Jeffrey Wolfson president, Strategy Group.
