Bozell Kamstra in Peabody has named Don Lavender production manager, Erik Olsen director of interactive services and Jamie Randazzo designer. Lavender, who brings more than 30 years of experience in printing and production, most recently served as president of Lavender Printing in Salem. Olsen co-founded Viking Net Technologies, an e-commerce development company. Randazzo previously worked as a designer at Renfer Mayr in Lowell.
Pohly & Partners has appointed Kurt Jones to the newly created position of publisher and named John Heffernan production director. Jones, who will manage sales teams for the Boston-based custom publishing company’s advertising-driven offerings, previously served as New England ad sales manager for
Yankee Magazine. Heffernan brings 10 years of production experience at companies such as Total Print & Design in Dublin, Ireland, and Stay Well/Mosby Consumer Health/Madison Publishing Corp. in Boston.
Renee Blodgett has been promoted to director of public relations and corporate communications at Newton-based Dragon Systems. In three years at the PC speech-recognition company, Blodgett helped launch Dragon NaturallySpeaking, the first general-purpose, continuous speech-recognition product. In her new role, she will further develop Dragon’s communications strategy in new product areas and vertical markets as well as manage worldwide public relations efforts.
Glen Ransden, a former senior vice president at Arnold Communications, has joined SEA Consultants in Cambridge as client service director, a newly established position. Ransden will direct all corporate marketing activities and manage the engineering and architecture firm’s client service program. Ransden has worked as vice president of corporate marketing for Simoniz Car Care Centers and Brigham’s Ice Cream. He also was president and founding partner of the Business Marketing Corp., Braintree.
Nicoll Public Relations has appointed Jessica Moffat as account coordinator at its Norwood office. Moffat, who had worked at the agency on a part-time basis while earning her degree at Regis College in Weston, will handle clients such as AudioControl, Runco International, Xtant Technologies and Onkyo Corp.
Accent Communications in Beverly has hired Robyn Hinckley as a graphic designer. As part of the agency’s growing design team, Hinckley will work on print ads, direct mail executions, newsletters and collateral material for clients such as Harcourt Brace College Publishers and Pinkerton Scientific.
Arnold Communications in Boston has promoted Robert Hamilton to vice president and associate creative director. Hamilton, who was a senior art director, has worked on the Seagram, Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages and Snyder Health Care Sales accounts. Hamilton has worked at Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and Pagano Schenck & Kay, both in Boston. In addition, Arnold has tapped recent Simmons College graduate Calleen Mark to serve as assistant to creative director Jay Williams.
Susan Remkiewicz, national sales manager for WBZ-AM, has been promoted to national sales manager for WODS-FM, in addition to her role at WBZ. Remkiewicz has been with WBZ since 1994. As national sales manager for both stations, she will be responsible for working with 10 sales offices across the country. She also will work with CBS Radio salespeople and buyers outside the Boston area. Prior to WBZ, Remkiewicz worked at several radio stations in New England and as a media buyer at Daniel F. Sullivan Co. in Boston.
The Greco Ethridge Group has tapped David Fox as a digital production specialist and Stephen Cheikh as project director. Fox was previously with FastTV.com in Cambridge and Los Angeles. Cheikh most recently worked at BC International in New York and Russ Roy Interactive in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
Arrow Direct in Woburn has promoted Denise Angelo to account services manager, Hal Nickerson to computer operator and Ken Reid to laser printer operator. The direct mail house also has hired Betsey DeMaggio as an assistant production manager. Angelo, formerly an account service representative, will now oversee all the account service reps as well as coordinate projects among Arrow Direct’s various departments.
WPRI/WNAC-TV in Providence has hired Bruce Morin as Web master. Morin will be responsible for the design and maintenance of the CBS 12 and Fox 64 Web sites. Both stations provide live video streaming of all their local newscasts on their sites. Morin was most recently Web designer/Web master at Liquid Blue in Lincoln.
