Stratecom in Boulder added two new staffers to its public relations and account management departments. Kevin Smith joins as an account manager, while Angela Lapré joins as a public relations account executive. Smith was previously head of marketing strategy development and design direction for GroupSystems.com in Denver. Lapré was previously an intern at the Longmont Times-Call in Longmont.

HAWAII

The Hawaii Advertising Federation has named its 2000-01 officers. They are: president Paul Lam, advertising manager for Servco Pacific; vice president Louise Saffery, president of Inter-media; secretary Rise Dittmar of RCD Media; and treasurer Karen Mendes of General Printing Co.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Funschool.com, San Jose, a leading educational game Web site for children, recently promoted Rié Shigematsu to vp of marketing and global education outreach. Shigematsu was formerly director of marketing.

Tenth Dimension, San Francisco, appointed Larry O’Brien vp of engineering and Joseph Dean executive director of development. O’Brien was previously vp of research and development at iMind Education Systems. Dean previously led technical teams at Andersen Consulting.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Columbia Pictures Marketing, Culver City, promoted Kate Donahoo and Loren Schwartz to co-directors of creative advertising. They will continue to supervise and manage the creation and production of print and audio-visual creative materials.

Santa Clara-based Lighthouse Advertising & Design added Pam Ott as media director. Ott brings to Lighthouse more than 20 years of advertising experience.

Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal City, promoted Brian Pope to vice president, marketing services. Pope was previously director of brand marketing.

E! Networks, Los Angeles, named Jennifer Davis vp of ad sales for the Western region. Davis was previously a broadcast negotiator.

Zubi Advertising, an agency based in Miami with an office in Los Angeles, hired Enrique Soler-Armstrong as vp, executive creative director.

Anne Sweeney was named vice president of ABC Cable Networks Group and president of Disney Channel Worldwide, Los Angeles. She was previously president of Disney/ABC Cable Networks and president of Disney Channel.

Point B, Newport Beach, hired Michael Baier as an account coordinator. Prior to joining Point B, Baier was an account executive in business development for Rocket Talk, an online voice messaging company.

Century DR, Santa Monica, promoted Renee Hill to svp, marketing and client services, Scott Flacks to vp, client services, and Beth Bloom to vp, operations.

The Regan Group, Culver City, hired Garey L. Kopecky as director of print production. Kopecky was formerly manager of print production at The Integer Group.

Independent Media Services, a media planning and buying agency with offices in New York and Los Angeles, tapped Elliot DeBear as senior executive vice president.

Big Bang Idea Engineering, San Diego, added Jana Peck and Stacy Kadrich to the account service department. Peck joins Big Bang as an account supervisor managing Qualcomm’s Eudora projects and other top accounts.
