Praco Ltd. Public Relations and Advertising has promoted Kristi Hayes from administrative assistant to public relations account coordinator in its Denver office.
Strategic Medical Communications, a full-service healthcare communications firm in Denver, hired Catherine Behan as copy director. Behan most recently worked in the department of marketing and public affairs at the Colorado corporate office of Columbia/HCA.
Oliver, Russell & Associates, an integrated marketing communications firm specializing in interactive multimedia, advertising and public relations, hired Holly Escobar as a media strategist and buyer. The Boise firm also hired Kristy Stanaway as an account executive.
Quillin & Co. Advertising & Public Relations in Las Vegas hired Tracy Klusman as traffic/production manager and Jennifer Rice as a graphic designer. Klusman previously worked for Sidra Kain Advertising, and Rice joins Quillin from Mirage Resorts. The agency also hired Lori Feiro as an assistant account executive. She previously served as marketing coordinator at The Tower Shops at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino, where she developed annual marketing and public relations plans and coordinated special events.
Hands Ink Advertising in Las Vegas hired Jim Amstutz as vice president, creative director.
The Stephenz Group in San Jose added senior creative director Michael Cruz, media director Judie Espinoza and account executives Laurie Stayton and Brent Baer.
Doug Carson has joined Forbes Inc. in the newly created position of Western sales manager for Forbes Digital Tool, the company’s daily online publication. He will be based in Burlingame.
Dazai Advertising in San Jose named Craig Patterson vice president of client services. Patterson most recently served as vice president of account management for Winston Marketing and Communications, also in San Jose.
Jim Coari joined the senior account management team of The Corsi Agency, San Francisco, as executive vice president and creative director. The appointment follows the agency’s acquisition of Coari’s shop, Jim Coari and Associates.
Goldberg Moser O’Neill in San Francisco hired Kathy Silverthorn as associate director of accountability; Michael Fenech as interactive account executive; Evyn Zell as senior account supervisor; Laura Jackson as account supervisor; Douglas Barlett and Frances Hsieh as account executives; and Jennifer Cosgrove and Emily Goldstein as assistant account executives.
AllApartments, a San Francisco company operating a rental resource Web site, appointed Sophia Kabler as vice president of marketing.
GreenTree Nutrition, an online wellness center and superstore in San Francisco, appointed Samuel Salkin vice president of merchandising. Salkin is the former president and chief executive officer of Peet’s Coffee & Tea. In addition, John Koenig joined GreenTree as vice president of engineering.
Walt Burns joined Cole & Weber/Portland as a senior copywriter. The agency also hired Aaron Cooper as a senior account executive.
Staccato Design in Portland hired Jessica Buell as an account executive.
Robley Marketing added Sarah Badten as an advertising account coordinator. The Portland agency handles full-service marketing, advertising and public relations for several clients including Paragon Cable and the Danner Shoe Manufacturing Co.

Debra Lieberman-Martucci was named senior vice president/media director at Palisades Media Group in Santa Monica. Lieberman joins the entertainment media buying firm from the Los Angeles office of Media That Works, where she served as senior vice president/media director.

Young & Rubicam-Wunderman Cato Johnson Team Lincoln-Mercury has added several new employees. On the Lincoln-Mercury Dealer Associations account, based in Irvine, the agency hired Michael Lipchitz as vice president, director of field operations, and Ted Francisco as an account supervisor. Karl Shaffer was hired as associate creative director, also in the Irvine office. Marc Woollard joined as a senior art director working with the WCJ account team. Bev Oster, president of San Diego’s Oster & Associates, has been elected 1998-99 president of the Advertising Club of San Diego. Oster has been a member of the San Diego advertising community since 1975.
Michael Waters was appointed to the newly created position of executive producer at Bedlam in Santa Monica. Waters has primarily worked as a freelance producer for Dailey and Associates in Los Angeles over the past five years before joining the edit house. The company also hired T.G.
