Mount Airy Casino Resort Selects Stand

BOSTON Mount Airy Casino Resort has named Stand Advertising as its first lead agency following a review. Stand, an Amherst, N.Y., independent shop, will handle the Paradise Township, Pa., casino’s pre-opening campaign.

According to Jacqui Bloh, client executive director of marketing, “Stand’s presentation, from both a strategic and a creative perspective, fit our needs perfectly.” Other review contenders were not disclosed.

“We’re proud to work with a property that will develop into the premier gaming resort in Pennsylvania,” said Stand president Janet Stanek.

Mount Airy will open in October with 2,500 slot machines and four restaurants. Scheduled to open in November are 188 luxury rooms (with a total of 400 slated for 2008), an 18-hole golf course, a full-service spa, a 200-seat nightclub, a 7,200-square-foot conference center and a fitness center. Stand’s efforts will likely target potential visitors in Pennsylvania and nearby states.

Stand also works for ECMC, Niagara County Community College and Perry’s Ice Cream, among other consumer and b-to-b assignments.
