LOS ANGELES A television spot launched this week created by independent Moses Anshell introduces Donkey Konga, a music-based program for the Nintendo GameCube, the agency said.

“The spot focuses on rhythms rather than screen shots,” said Louie Moses, the Phoenix-based agency’s president and chief creative officer. Instead of a traditional controller, he said, Donkey Konga’s actions are triggered by each player’s drum patterns on sets of electric bongos.

The game progresses as players drum along with 30 pre-programmed songs, from kid-themed medleys to rock tunes like Queen’s “We Will Rock You” and Santana’s “Oy Yo Comma Va.”
