It’s not hard to see how augmented reality apps—which superimpose computer-generated images onto the real-world view of your smartphone camera—can be a powerful branding tool. Ikea Place, for example, gives shoppers a future view of how furniture might look in their homes. And L’Oreal’s Virtual Try-On lets customers safely see what they’ll look like wearing a certain lipstick or hair color.

But, it’s a little tougher to guess where a condiment brand would fit into the AR realm.
