DALLAS The Dallas Morning News has hired Publicis Groupe-backed Moroch Latino/Leo Burnett USA to handle ad duties for the launch of the publication’s daily Spanish newspaper, Al Dia, the client confirmed.

The Dallas shop contended for the account against local agencies Ornelas & Associates, an independent, and Omnicom Group-backed Cultura, according to sources.

“We had three very strong local finalists and felt Moroch was best in tune with what we wanted to do to establish ourselves as a new and local entity,” said Al Dia president Gilbert Bailon.
