Last year had its good points, no doubt, but a sense of general prosperity wasn’t one of them. A survey by WSL Strategic Retail asked adults whether their household’s financial situation had improved in the past year. Just 25 percent said it had. Even among people with household income of $100,000-plus, a tepid 39 percent said their finances got better. That matches the number in this cohort who think the economy in general improved in the prior six months.
