Mohegan Sun Bets On Interactive

BOSTON Mintz & Hoke has launched an online promotional effort for Mohegan Sun that includes a revamped Web site and e-mail newsletter.

The monthly opt-in newsletter promotes the casino’s offerings and gives people a chance to win prizes, such as cash or a free night at the resort.

“Our philosophy on e-mail promotions is [that] we really like to see a promotion that supports the brand in its message and delivers something of value to the recipient,” said Eulah Sheffield, vp and director of interactive services at the Avon, Conn. agency.

Meanwhile, the Web site focuses on the casino’s “Come Play” positioning line. The program targets Northeast residents over the age of 21.

Creative credits include Sheffield, as creative director, Alison Miles as copywriter, and Pam Sullivan as art director.

The Uncasville, Conn.-based casino’s general ad account is currently in review; independent Cliff Freeman and Partners in New York is the incumbent on that business.
