General stocks managed to finish the week slightly higher, thanks in large part to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s bullish comments on the economy, despite continued inflation fears. The Dow managed to close up 1.2 percent, finishing at 10,868.38, a gain of 129.03 points. Disappointing earnings, however, weighed on the Nasdaq, which finished down 0.7 percent at 2,020.39, off 14.37. Ad stocks fared better. Omnicom finished up 3 percent at 87.50. WPP Group gained 4 percent, closing at 57.33.
