Modem’s Particelli Named President

NEW YORK — Modem Media CEO Marc Particelli, who joined the i-shop in January, assumed the additional role of president Tuesday after a vote by the board of directors, a company representative confirmed. Particelli will now be responsible for corporate marketing and strategy, business development and all domestic offices, in addition to his CEO duties of heading up finance, human resources, legal and international operations.

The post was previously held by Robert Allen, who has been on a leave of absence due to personal reasons since June [Adweek.com, June 12]. “[Allen] is still on leave and it remains undetermined in what capacity he’ll return to the agency,” the company representative said.

Until now, Allen’s duties have been shared by individuals across the organization, including Particelli. Allen will remain a member of the company’s board of directors and will carry the title of managing director.

Meanwhile, David Lynch, managing director of the marketing strategies practice, has been promoted to managing director, North America East. In the newly created post, Lynch will oversee Modem Media’s Norwalk headquarters and Toronto office. He will continue to serve the marketing strategies practice.
