Mintz & Hoke has re-ceived the top prize at a regional industry awards show for the second time in three weeks.

The Avon, Conn., agency won best of show at the Connecticut Art Directors Club’s 27th annual awards program. The winning entry was a radio campaign promoting the Hartford Courant’s classified advertising section.

The spots were crafted by copywriter David Banta, who also wrote the script for the agency’s humorous “Gladys” campaign for Ames De-partment Stores. Those TV ads scored best-of-show honors at the recently held Connecticut Ad Club Awards [Adweek, May 27].

This year marks the first in which a radio commercial won best of show at CADC, though radio campaigns have long been eligible.
