he fourth annual Massachusetts Interactive Media Council Awards will feature four new top prizes in design, concept, use of technology and Best of Show.
This Wednesday’s ceremony at the Boston Copley Place Marriott is expected to attract more than 1,000 Web specialists. Fifty-nine industry professionals judged about 500 entries this year–a 35 percent increase from last year–and awarded 31 prizes in categories ranging from educational Web sites to user applications.
Finalists in the online advertising category are Boston shops Arnold Communications and Circle.com for Volkswagen of America (see below); Excite Home’s Enliven business unit for the Hard Rock Cafe and Bell South Mobility 5120 Nokia; and ZDNet for an in-house ad.
Business-to-Consumer Sales Site finalists include Furniture.com’s Roomplanner by Internoded and an in-house team; Outletzoo.com by Raincastle Communications and Eggrock Communications; and Flowerfarm.com by The Screen House. –Lauren Wiley
