Mid-Summer Flicks Increase Web Traffic

NEW YORK — Moviegoers flocked to film Web sites during the Fourth of July holiday to check out just-released, mid-summer blockbusters, like “Men in Black II.”

According to the latest report from Nielsen/NetRatings, traffic to Fandango.com boomed 86 percent the week ending July 7. The movie site garnered 381,000 visitors that week, compared to 205,000 the week before.
