By default, four shops are semifinalists for the $2.8 million Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau advertising account.

After issuing 25 requests for proposals last month, the client received only four responses to its three-page questionnaire. Agencies which replied were incumbent Turkel Schwartz & Partners, Beber Silverstein & Partners, Sanchez & Levitan and TAG Advertising, all based in Miami.

The quartet of contenders will make credentials presentations to the client this Wednesday, according to Rolando Aedo, associate vice president of marketing services for Miami’s tourism bureau.

At least two and possibly all four agencies will present creative ideas on June 13.
