Merger Vet Williams Joins Y&R

Richard Williams, who worked through two mergers at his previous agency, has taken an account and new business position with Young & Rubicam here.

Williams, formerly senior vice president at Simons Michelson Zieve in Troy, Mich., was named senior vice president and group director on the Champion Homes account at Y&R in Dearborn, Mich.

Champion, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich., is the nation’s largest builder of pre-fabricated homes.

At Y&R, Williams will also work on attracting new business to the agency, which was one of his specialties in his previous jobs.

Williams was an executive with Stone, August, Medrich & Co.
