Floor-to-ceiling windows at Glasshouse 21 on Manhattan's west side offered phenomenal views of the Hudson River and beyond during the Medialink NewFront Monday morning.
The wide open space was packed with "friends" of the 11-year-old strategic advisory and business development firm, sipping coffee and eating assorted croissants. Medialink, founder Michael Kassan and veteran entertainment industry attorney Ken Ziffren were seated in director's chairs in a corner of the room having a casual discussion about the company, online video industry and its future.
The "friends of the company" in attendance featured a mix of advertisers, execs, distribution partners, content creators and media members. The goal was simple: bring everyone in the industry together to kick off two weeks of jam-packed NewFronts.
"We'll see enough video over the other 34 presentations," Medialink svp Dave Anderson said.
"I continue to be excited to see these platforms really moving their strategy forward."
Anderson went on to mention that the majority of presenters from the NewFronts were in attendance, and he's excited about the direction of the industry.
"Online video is the next medium. Everyone from Hulu to Yahoo to Refinery29 is really raising the bar," Anderson said. "I think the breakfast was a great start of a conversation."
