NEW YORK — Grey Global Group’s MediaCom has won the $165 million global media buying and planning account, including a global corporate assignment, for Royal Dutch/Shell Group.

With this win, MediaCom is poised to handle media globally for the oil giant by May 2002, said Stephen Allan, Group CEO for MediaCom for the UK.

In this review, MediaCom faced off against Tempus Group’s CIA Medianetwork, the incumbent shop, as well as WPP Group’s The Media Edge and Interpublic Group of Cos.
