MDC Partnership Wins Pfizer’s Xalatan

NEW YORK Pfizer has awarded its $5 million Xalatan account to Source/Chinnici, a partnership between MDC siblings Source Marketing and Chinnici Direct.

Source/Chinnici in New York will handle brand duties as well as acquisition and customer relationship marketing for Xalatan, a prescription medication that treats glaucoma. Source Marketing in Westport, Conn., will handle account management responsibilities while Chinnici will contribute analytical capabilities, said Rich Feldman, managing partner. Creative responsibilities will be shared.

The duo defeated incumbent Pace Advertising in New York, sources said.

Separately, Source Marketing has picked up duties for Staples’ grand opening in-store event program. The agency will plan and execute 12 store opening events, nine in Chicago and three at locations yet to be named. The agency is charged with creating a ‘memorable brand personality for the office superstore,’ an agency rep said.
