MDC last week said it has purchased a 68 percent stake in San Diego shop VitroRobertson, a 50-person agency that claims about $60 million in billings. VitroRobertson’s clients include Baskin- Robbins, Cobra Golf and Yamaha WaterCraft. The acquisition gives MDC a new foothold in Southern California following Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s move in May to scale back creative functions in its Venice, Calif., office. Financial terms of the VitroRobertson deal were not disclosed.
