McKinney New York Fills Managing Director Role

George Nguyen joins from TBWA\Toronto

The New York office of McKinney has found its new managing director in Toronto.

George Nguyen was md and chief strategy officer at TBWA\Toronto. At McKinney, he fills a vacancy left by the late 2013 exit of Alex Van Gestel.

Nguyen, who started today, becomes part of a leadership team that includes executive creative director Peter Nicholson and head of strategic services Yusuf Chuku. The top account in the office, which employs about 30 staffers, is Samsung.

McKinney CEO Brad Brinegar said Nyugen would be integral to attracting global brands and top talent for the creative shop.

Nguyen spent six years at TBWA, working on brands like Visa and Nissan. Before Toronto, he was md of TBWA\Vietnam. While in that country, he helped launch Vietnam's first international sports team, the Saigon Heat.

Before TBWA, Nguyen was a group strategy director at StrawberryFrog in New York. He also has worked at Lowe, Arnold and DDB.
