Mcgrath Names Heir At JMC&T

NEW YORK-Pat McGrath, president of Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor, last week anointed Stephen Badenhop, a 16-year veteran of the agency, as his heir apparent.
McGrath has named Badenhop managing director, director of client services, a position that will allow McGrath to groom his protƒge for the top job.
Badenhop, 50, was executive vice president, group director on the SmithKline Beecham account. He becomes the first director of client services at the New York shop.
Badenhop will also take a more prominent role in new business efforts.
“He has great rapport with people and is a smart and articulate leader,” said McGrath, 63. McGrath said his retirement is not imminent.
McGrath, the only founding partner remaining at the shop, is the majority shareholder in the $560 million agency. When asked if his eventual departure would lead the privately held agency to sell, McGrath characterized such speculation as “irrelevant” because “I’m not going anywhere for a long while.”
Badenhop said his plans as CEO will involve maintaining “the agency’s independence, [a formula] that has proven successful.”
JMC&T’s clients include Procter & Gamble and Hasbro.
