‘Nothing but Net,’ the McDonald’s TV spot from Leo Burnett featuring a hyperbolic horse contest between Larry Bird and Michael Jordan may become a brand of its own. McDonald’s will be a title sponsor of a ‘Nothing But Net’ horse tournament associated with Hoop-It-Up, the NBA’s national three-on-three tournament.
The McDonald’s Nothing But Net Tournament will be tested during Hoop It Up tournament stops in Hartford June 5 and 6 and Cleveland August 14 and 15, with a national rollout tentatively scheduled for 1994.
