McCann Ups Cranin to New Creative Post

NEW YORK McCann-Erickson is expanding Jonathan Cranin’s worldwide creative responsibilities, the agency confirmed.

Effective in the first quarter, Cranin will become worldwide creative director of multinational accounts, a new position. He is currently worldwide creative director, overseeing the agency’s cornerstone accounts such as Nestle, Microsoft and General Motors in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. In the new position he will supervise those accounts in the Latin America and Asia regions.

Marcio Moreira is the senior-most creative in the organization. He is vice chairman, chief creative officer and worldwide director of multinational accounts for McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, which includes the ad agency McCann-Erickson Worldwide.

Neither Cranin nor Moreira could be reached for comment.

The agency said the promotion does not affect McCann New York chairman and chief creative officer Nina DiSesa.
DiSesa, Moreira and Cranin each report to McCann WorldGroup CEO Jim Heekin.

Of Cranin’s promotion, DiSesa said, “I’m very happy for him. He provides a very strong function on those accounts. He’s actually been doing that job for awhile and now the title has caught up with him.”
